Even though the main focus was adjectives, we focused on the setting and characters as well. The class was put into 4 groups and 2 groups worked on setting while 2 groups worked on characters.
The students drew the pictures first in pencil and then painted them. They were allowed to be as creative as they wanted and this activity really helped to promote team working as well.
As the paintings dried, they students came up with adjectives to describe the different characters and setting. They wrote them on colored paper and cut them out, when the paintings were dry, they stuck them on. We then had it displayed in the hallway.
Lunch Cards- My reasoning for displaying this picture is to show how I promote independence in the classroom. The students are in charge of their own lunch card, taking it out before lunch and putting it back afterwards.
My Classroom- This is another picture of my classroom. You can see more of the letters and sounds displayed, as well as some pictures that the students did while reading The Gruffalo.
